 This
is a photo around the turn of the century of Lake View Cottage in its early
splendor. It was built by David Knowles, great grandfather of Becky, and
run as an inn for many years. David also built the Chocorua Peak House, a
mountain top hotel, in 1893, which was in operation until 1915 when it blew off
in a storm. Lake View Cottage was run off and on as an inn by David's
granddaughters, Francis and Helen. It was recently renovated by Becky
Knowles and her husband Jim Coogan and opened as a bed and breakfast in July of
2000.
